Have you ever heard of steel strapping or steel strapping seals? You may not have heard of them, but you’ve definitely seen them in your everyday life. We’ll get into where you’ve seen these devices in a little bit, but first, let’s take a look at what steel strapping actually is.

In the simplest terms, steel strapping could be compared to a very large, very durable rubber band. Essentially, it’s a steel strap used to hold something in place so that it doesn’t move. For instance, those in the steel industry can bind metal straps to a box structure. This strapping, as the name suggests, is typically made from stainless steel. Unfortunately, it won’t stretch like a rubber band, but that’s a good thing in this case. It comes in many different sizes too, ranging from 3/8″ by .015 to 3/4″ by 0.30.

Now that you know what steel strapping is and what steel strapping seals do, it’s time to find out where you’ve seen them on a daily basis. There are many uses for steel strapping seals, some of which may surprise you.
